Retained Baby Teeth?

My 6 month old pom is retaining her baby teeth while the adult teeth are growing in-behind. She can get them pulled when she gets spayed in a couple weeks but is there anything i can do to help encourage them to fall out before then? Wiggle them? Give her a certain kind of bone? I read cutting the tips off doesn%26#039;t hurt and it causes them to fall out :S Any suggestions?

Retained Baby Teeth?
Just leave them alone. You can do more harm than good. They are in there tight and it would hurt your pup.
Reply:well first ask your vet but give her bones a lot to get the teeth out and you are giving her dry food right?
Reply:Don%26#039;t try to wiggle them or pull them out; you%26#039;ll do more damage than good.

Instead, encourage her to chew on things. Plush toys, chew bones, a tennis ball, etc. Using her teeth will help the baby teeth fall out.
Reply:Just barely had my 10 month old shih tzu spayed 3 weeks ago. Also had her retained baby teeth removed at that time. When I checked with my vet a few weeks prior, I asked the same questions you did. He pointed out to me that because the teeth were NOT loose or showing any inclination towards coming out on their own, that to mess with them could damage the root of the permanent tooth. I (jokingly) accused him of just wanting the extra money so he did it free of charge!

Between the spaying, tooth removal (5) and microchipping, my girl was back home within four hours. She ate that evening like nothing had happened! Good luck with your baby!
Reply:leave them alone. Seriously you are going to want to be able to do dental care with your dog, so don%26#039;t be a pain in her mouth now. The teeth can come out when she%26#039;s asleep, and she won%26#039;t have issues about you sticking your fingers in her mouth and causeing discomfort.
