Does anyone know of any? Ok my husband had to get 2 teeth pulled when he was very small, his sister had a root canal at age 6. their adult teeth came in fine and no problems. not I just found out that my 3 year old daughter has 8 cavities and one is very very bad. also my husbands nephews both went to the dentist, one had to get a tooth pulled and the outher a root canal. my sister in law took her boys to the dentist 6 moths ago and their teeth were fine. My daughter brushes her teeth all the time after she eats and never eats exsessive sweets. I dont understand. I am really convinced that there is something on my husband side of the family that effects baby teeth, has anyone ever heard of such a thing, please help, this is like a mystery.
Hereditary Dental conditions that effect baby teeth???
Yes you can inherit tendencies towards bad teeth from one or both parents. Not all dentists believe this but one dentist told either my mother or my brother (can%26#039;t remember which) about this.
Reply:Ask your dentist these questions. Does your daughter drink alot of punch, tea, cokes or other sugary drinks? (A soft drink has 10 tsp. of sugar that goes into the blood stream and can rot teeth from the inside out!)
Reply:My nephew%26#039;s son had to have his baby teeth surgically removed for the same reason, and I believe surgery on his gums. They gave him a bottle with kool-aide in it a lot. Are you sure that you don%26#039;t do something similar? Make sure she has vitamins and plenty of milk to build strong teeth and bones.
Reply:it could be possible it is heridity..on the other hand i have heard people say if mother was on different types of medication for health problems for long a very time in her young age , that could also affect the childs growth in many ways including dental issues..better to consult Dr now as she is still 3 yrs.. she is still in her milk tooth..may be next set of tooth shud come up fine with Doc help
