My son still has all his baby teeth with no signs of loosening. Is this cause for concern?

My son is 7 years and 5 months old. The charts I%26#039;ve viewed say that first baby teeth typically come out between ages 6-7. This is true with all his classmates so far. He%26#039;s a healthy, active kid...this baby tooth thing is my only real concern.


One of my nephews actually had a problem in which his adult teeth grew in while his baby teeth were still in - is that sort of thing genetic? I sure don%26#039;t want my son to have to go through the stuff my nephew went through.

I have a seven year old son, I`m waiting for some more baby teeth to come out. He`s only lost his two bottom teeth, and they had to be pulled because his adult teeth were coming in behind them. The dentist took xrays, he said everything was fine. But I still worry.I had impacted teeth when I was a kid, and I didn`t loose all my molars until I was 15.
Reply:Take him to the dentist. The X-rays will show if the teeth are coming in properly and if he will need to have his baby teeth pulled.





It can be genetic, so take him to a dentist you trust. Most likely you have nothing to be worried about, but it is better to catch a problem early. Take him to the dentist with your concerns and be ready to pay for the full x-ray. It may be that they just aren%26#039;t ready.





I had a similar concern with my son. My son didn%26#039;t lose his until he was almost 8, but they finally did come in and I am less concerned now. (except that he grinds them, which worries me even more now)
Reply:relax. the longer he keeps the healthy baby teeth, the stronger his adult teeth will become. i%26#039;m sure the dentist has taken xrays that show the adult teeth.
Reply:It depends. I still have 2 of my baby teeth and I%26#039;m 20, lol. Those teeth have to be pulled out to put in some new teeth. And don%26#039;t worry it%26#039;s not a bad thing, many people have some of their baby teeth that don%26#039;t grow.
Reply:i was 8 years old before i lost my first baby tooth. my grandma wanted to rush me to the dr, but my mom waited it out. or maybe it was the other way around. anyway, i didn%26#039;t go to the dr, and i was ok. but, the reason i probably had that happen was because i had mercury poisoning and it caused my immune system and health to be bad:

Reply:No; there is nothing to worry about. If you have concerns regarding the fact with your nephews teeth, then go ask your son%26#039;s dentist; he will probably be able to give you a fairly accurate answer right away. I didn%26#039;t lose many of my baby teeth until I was 9 so there%26#039;s all levels of time for everyone.
Reply:Not a big deal at all. He%26#039;s 7.5, he%26#039;s just over the age bracket. Now if he was 9 or 10 I would start to worry. Most of my baby teeth fell out when my adult teeth were coming in, and they pushed them out. My teeth came in straight.





I have a friend who had to have 2 baby teeth pulled because she had no adult teeth coming in below them, and she got them pulled when she was 16-17.





I wouldn%26#039;t worry. He%26#039;s still a kid.
Reply:What did the dentist say when your son was in for his six month exam? If there was a problem I am sure the dentist would have mentioned it to you during his routine exam. If you have concerns then call the dentist and talk him/her about this.
